A rotisserie kit is also available that you can install yourself. The rotisserie is large enough to place two whole chickens at one time. The cooking area is also quite large, so you can easily feed many people. The CharBroil commercial grill is easy to find at the major home improvement stores as well as online. This grill is available in both natural gas and liquid petroleum and conversions for your convenience.
What We Like About The CharBroil Commercial Series
The CharBroil Commercial series grill is a multi featured gas grill. They are attractive to look at, (if you polish and wash it) and will look great on any patio. The grill also has a porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates, a side burner, and also a large area for cooking. The total area is about 500-700 hundred square inches.
When you use an oven thermometer, you can see the grill heats up quickly and cooks delicious meals (with the right power setting of course). If you have natural gas in your house, you can use a natural gas conversion kit to hook it up instead of using an liquid petroleum tank.
What We Don’t Like About The CharBroil Commercial Grill
The stainless steel use to make the CharBroil Commercial series grill’s is rather low quality. (Unlike Wolverine’s adamantium claws) Though they bother to put the rotisserie burner in, the rotisserie unit is sold separately. But it is quite affordable though.
The burners do not last too long (about 2 to 3 years on average), so be sure to register your grill so your warranty remains in effect, and remember to keep your receipts. The cooking grates are coated only with porcelain, and they are not enameled. The heating vent is also overly large and with the thin metal body frame, it is difficult to control the heat when cooking.
In addition, the grease pan does not always drain as it is supposed to do, occasionally it can result in a grease fire. The built in thermometer is not very accurate, and normally measures a much lower temperatures than is in the grill. By placing an oven thermometer inside, you can accurately measure the correct temperature.
Summary
Well, although it is not perfect, the CharBroil Commercial grill is well worth the money. The stainless steel takes some tender loving care to remain nice. (An occasional backrub with a cloth and polish and she’ll love you for it) The thermometer is not accurate, but a cheap oven thermometer can fix that easily.
Regular maintenance is needed for this grill to perform at its best. The grease pan should be cleaned after every use, and the grill itself should be covered when not in use. I recommend “Barkeepers’ Friend”, which will help the stainless steel to look its best. Well, I guess these are minor problems that you can easily deal with. Overall it is still a great commercial grill and I highly recommend it.
